About Us

On 1 July 2008, Wheat Exports Australia (WEA) replaced the Export Wheat Commission following changes to Australia’s wheat export arrangements. 

WEA’s role is determined by the Wheat Export Marketing Act 2008.  It was established to regulate the export of bulk wheat from Australia through the Wheat Export Accreditation Scheme (the Scheme). Under the Scheme, WEA has the power to grant, suspend, cancel or vary bulk wheat export accreditations.

WEA requires all accredited bulk exporters to provide an annual export report, annual compliance report and report on notifiable matters that may affect its accreditation.

WEA facilitates the operations of Australia’s bulk wheat export arrangements through the Wheat Export Accreditation Scheme and informs Government and growers of outcomes.

Our organisation

WEA consists of a Chairperson and five members appointed by the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry for a period not exceeding five years. To read more click here.

Client Service Charter
