Freedom of Information

The object of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act) is to:

"give the Australian community access to information held by the Government of the Commonwealth, by:

(a) requiring agencies to publish the information; and
(b) providing for a right of access to documents".

Making a Freedom of Information (FOI) request

FOI requests should be sent to:
The FOI Coordinator
Wheat Exports Australia
Unit 2, Royal Lifesaving House
26-28 Napier Close

Applicants are requested to provide enough information to Wheat Exports Australia (WEA) to identify the documents sought and specify an address within Australia for notices to be sent.

Fees and charges

Charges for processing an FOI request may apply. WEA may decide to remit, reduce or not impose fees and charges for any reason, including financial hardship or general public interest. The applicant will be given the opportunity to provide reasons and supporting evidence as to why the fee or charge should be waived or reduced.

The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner provides useful information about all aspects of FOI.

Please contact the WEA FOI Coordinator on (02) 6202 3400 or for further information.
