Variations to accreditation

Variation by WEA

WEA may vary an exporter’s accreditation at any time. This includes, but is not limited to, varying or revoking a condition imposed condition on the accreditation. (Please note: some conditions of accreditation are mandatory and cannot be varied, for further information click here)

WEA will not vary an accreditation without first consulting the exporter about the proposed variation.

If, after consultation has occurred, WEA makes the decision to vary an accreditation it will advise the exporter of the following in writing:

  1. the details of the variation;
  2. the reasons for the variation; and
  3. the date from which the variation takes effect.

WEA may also issue a new instrument of accreditation to an exporter if it deems it necessary to do so.

Variation by an accredited exporter

An accredited exporter can apply to WEA at any time to vary its accreditation. This includes, but is not limited to, varying or revoking a condition imposed on the accreditation. (Please note: some conditions of accreditation are mandatory and cannot be varied, for further information click here)

Applications must be made on the Application to Vary an Accreditation form. One form can include more than one request for a variation.

The non-refundable application fee must also accompany the form, to find out more about the application fee click here.

WEA is required to consult with an applicant prior to making the decision to approve or reject the application for variation. If more than one variation was requested on the application form, WEA will treat each request separately and make an individual decision on each request.

WEA will advise the applicant in writing of its decision within 14 days of making it. If WEA decides to refuse the variation, it will also advise of its reasons for the rejection.

WEA may also issue a new instrument of accreditation to an exporter if it deems it necessary to do so.
